What’s done is done. What’s gone is gone. One of life’s lessons is always moving on. It’s okay to look back to see how far you’ve come but keep moving forward.
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.
Thomas A. Edison
I have come across various instances of mistakes and failures in my life.
Later I realised that mistakes are part and parcel of life. Entrepreneurship is a process. So I read articles, deep-dive in books, listen to podcasts, interviewed people and gathered info. Then I think I want to share some insights on mistakes and failures in life.
Everyone fails in life. At one point or another, you’re going to suffer through failure.
If you haven’t already experienced some monumental failures, then you just wait and see. I don’t say that because my outlook is pessimistic – it’s the realist in me speaking here.
What’s the problem then? Most people associate mistakes and failures with complete defeat.
Rome was not built in a day
Success comes through rapidly fixing our mistakes rather than getting things right the first time.
You made a mistake, and now you are responsible for fixing things and learning from your experience so that you can do better next time.
Think back to all the mistakes you made in life and consider how they have strengthened your character and ability.
Success is messy actually, you’ll bump into things, make mistakes that’ll have you cringing with embarrassment at times.
You’ll waste time on ideas that look dumb at the time, get distracted, and waste more time. But, that’s all part of the journey.
With persistence, you will get better and you’ll look in your pile of mistakes and see some flecks of gold, or diamonds.
You’ll start to master your craft and in time, you’ll have a great understanding of what you are doing, and progress will come much easier.
At this point, the magic starts to happen and your pile of mistakes will convert into massive success.
Don’t lose hope, stay persistence and consistent because success never comes polish like a diamond.
Know that success is not perfection. Success is simply doing the best you can with what you have.
As long as you are constantly growing and glowing as a person as well as improving your actions, you are striving towards achieving success.
Mistakes are bound to happen. But if you learn from them, you are on your way to becoming a success.
We see mistakes as being problems rather than being stepping stones to finding solutions. In doing so, we avoid taking responsibility for our errors–and therefore miss the chance to learn something new.
Further, society teaches us to feel guilty about failure and to do anything possible to avoid making mistakes.

5 Ways To Turn Your Mistake Into A Valuable Life Lesson
1) Acknowledge Your Errors
Before you can learn from your mistakes, you have to accept full responsibility for your role in the outcome. That can be uncomfortable sometimes, but until you can say, “I messed up,” you aren’t ready to change.
2) Ask Yourself Tough Questions
While you don’t want to dwell on your mistakes, reflecting on them can be productive. Ask yourself a few tough questions:
- What went wrong?
- What could I do better next time?
- What did I learn from this?
Write down your responses and you’ll see the situation a little more clearly. Seeing your answers on paper can help you think more logically about an irrational or emotional experience.
3) Make A Plan
Beating yourself up for your mistakes won’t help you down the road. It’s important to spend the bulk of your time thinking about how to do better in the future. Make a plan that will help you be as detailed as possible but remain flexible since your plan may need to change.

4) Make It Harder To Mess Up
Don’t depend on willpower alone to prevent you from taking an unhealthy shortcut or from giving into immediate gratification. Increase your chances of success by making it harder to mess up again.
5) Create A List Of Reasons Why You Don’t Want To Make The Mistake Again
Sometimes, it only takes one weak moment to indulge in something you shouldn’t. Creating a list of all the reasons why you should stay on track could help you stay self-disciplined, even during the toughest times.
I hope you could learn something from this small-time sharing. I pray for your success and May Allah bless you.
Albert Einstein once said
Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.
Keep going, keep moving and keep learning, insyAllah.
