It was like 20 years ago, while I was one of the junior system consultant in a Government Linked Company under a state
That time we were doing an online project. One of the national level flagship projects that is still standing even till now.
It is an online system that automates all business processes and I had to integrate 13 states of clients which was having different jurisdiction at that time.
I had no experience, fresh from college and I just had to do it.
So the values and strictness that my ex bosses trained me molded to who I am now and that is why I’m so detail in the works we are doing.
3 important things I learnt along the way:
- Do Not Assume
- Self-Discipline
- Sense of Urgency
Do Not Assume
This is very important when it comes to problem solving and decision making – DO NOT ASSUME.
My training ground were different, we were forbid of assuming but rather in as “Make Sure Environment“.
“Don’t assume, make sure.”
The famous quotes by my bosses that time.
I hated it but you know what, that “Make Sure Environment” mindset shapes me and and my brother to this stage now.
If not, you will end up like most people out there.
Self Discipline
Due respect, at older age most people still floating in term of business direction partly because they don’t have that self discipline, besides don’t know clearly where they are going or even where they want to go.
If you don’t have this then you will not have sustainable mindset, even if your lucky to be awarded multi million projects, you will not be able to sustain and complete it. Because your inner core is not design to sustain and deliver.

One of the logics behind any business.
Most businesses are unsuccessful because they are not realistic nor understand the business logic behind it.
Sense of Urgency
If you can do it earlier before due date, you buy yourself some time for rectification or further enhancement if needed.
Impress the clients with value added services or quality delivery within expected time frame. If you can do it now, then DO IT NOW.
You just gotta start something somewhere, somehow and achieve that great performance.
